Julie Martin is the daughter of Peter and Joyce Martin of Rubicon. A senior this fall, Julie attends the University of Wisconsin- Madison where she is majoring in Life Sciences Communication and Agricultural & Applied Economics. Julie's fair experience goes back to her days as a Cloverbud, where she was involved with cake decorating, stitchery, and stencil painting. Her days in 4-H led her to the Hartford FFA, where she became even more involved with fair as she began to show dairy and crops. A passion for agriculture and the beautiful bovines, she also served as the Washington County Dairy Ambassador, representing the county and the dairy industry at local and statewide events in 2006. Her years as a 4-H and FFA member have instilled great memories from the fair and a drive to share her experiences and appreciation for everything the fair has to offer. Now with her career aspirations set on agri-marketing and communications, she looks forward to running for Fairest of the Fair and applying her communication skills. "It would be an honor to represent Washington County and a grand opportunity to not only promote and speak on behalf of the county, but also to get to know more of the community members throughout the county," Julie remarks. "Washington County has so much to be proud of and to contribute to the state, and I am eager to share its story with those that reside within and beyond the county's border." |
